Fix pops/crackles caused by X-Fi

If I turn on the crystalizer or turn on the bass on my X-Fi XtremeMusic (not the gimped crap card, part of original series of X-Fi cards) I get some pops on really bassy drum hits. Any way to fix this? Do my speakers just suck?

um, crystalizer does nothing magic, but amplifies some frequencies in mp3 and creates distortion is some cases.. fix the problem by not using crystalizer. And encode your music in high bit rate.

Yeah I figured as much. The higher the bitrate the more crackly it got.

Try another set of speakers. Sounds like a bad connection.
