I have a 2nd gen Dell DJ with a busted 20GB hdd. It'll cost like $30 shipped to get a replacement drive. I don't know if I should spend money to fix this (it seems like a waste otherwise) or just buy a new one with more functions...

I know that if the hard drive went out on my iPod, I would rather spend $30-40 to repair it than the $200 to get a new iPod.

Hmm, for $60 you can get an 8GB Sansa Clip+ which has a MicroSD slot, so you can increase the capacity. For another $20 you can get a Fuze 8GB (roughly the same as the clip but with a bigger screen, better wheel, and longer battery life with a somewhat larger form).

I'd personally go for something new. Depending on how much you're looking to spend, maybe it'll give you a good reason to get a ZuneHD?
