fix old gimpy mobo now or wait few weeks and buy new sys?

OS

i have an old NF2+XP-M that was voltage modded to run 200 mhz bus. I think the mobo is shot, i get weird crashes and time runs fast and all kinds of weird sh*t. I don't use this system very often now, but it does need to be fixed.

So should I sink $50 now and get a new mobo or wait a couple weeks to get new mobo/CPU/PCIe vid card?

I'd go with the PCIe path, the 6600GT is a hell of a lot better than anything in its price range on AGP, and that trend is likely to continue, with both graphics companies making committments to focus more of their new cards on PCIe, in an effort to make the transition as fast as possible. Unless you are looking at the extreme high end, where PCIe cards are more expensive due to a drought of supply for both platforms, there is not a price premium to go PCIe, and you can expect nVidia and ATI to position their best price/performance cards on PCIe. From nVidia's pricing info on nForce4, the prices will be inline with nForce3, so if you think you can wait another 2-3 weeks, I'd go that way. The new PCIe mobos will have other new tech as well, like SATA-II, hardware firewall, PCIe x1 expansion slots, etc.
