fix frequency monitors, is it worth it?

friend gave me a silicone graphics 21" fixed frequencey monitor, is it worth the $120 to buy the special graphics card, and if I do purchase the card will this monitor perform the same as a normal pc monitor? thanks for any advice

I would not buy it. I've heard very bad things about fixed frequency monitors. I do not think they work the same as normal PC monitors. I don't think you can adjust the refesh rate or something like that.

thanks for the input, however their are companies out there who make video cards which supposedly allows it to work on a regular pc
