I'm not exactly sure what is wrong but my psu won't powerup, no fans spinning or any kind of beeps, the LED light is blank in the front, when I turn on the "I" switch on the back. I have a seasonic s12-600, this is my first time building a pc. I'm not exactly sure what I did wrong but I follow the instructions book and wired everything correctly. I'm not sure if I got a dead psu.... Is there a way to determine if I got a dead one?

Below is my configuration.

Are you positive you have the case power connected to the right pins on the mobo?

I made that mistake on my first build. I was 1 pin too far to the left.

If that isn't the problem then you can try "jumpstarting" the PSU. Google for "jump PSU" although I doubt you have a dead PSU.

Got a paper clip and a voltmeter?

Jumper green to black at the ATX connector and make sure it powers up and measure all the voltages at a molex connector. Now remove the jumper and measure the 5v standby pin of the connector. (it's always on)

If all this checks out then your PSU is likely good.

P.S. I never completely build a system before powering it on for the first time. Start with MB, CPU, minimum memory, and a known good PSU and video card. Do it on the bench and if it POST's then you can start adding other components and put it in a case.

PSU is DoA, amazing... First time builders nightmare... Anyways I'm having this ship back to Newegg.

I need a PSU right now, I think i'm going to head to microcenter and buy one tmr in person, what is a good psu to buy at microcenter? Thanks.

Ok so I went to Microcenter and pick up a Enermax 535W psu, I connected it to the mobo, the onboard LED light turns green yay, at least I have a green light now!! I thought it would work, wire up the system, try to turn on the power switch and no power still.... absolutely no power.. I don't know what is wrong or what im doing wrong for that matter. I need help please, the led wire are all plugin correctly, I went over the wiring in the system quite a few times now and relook over the manual of the mobo, everything is plug in correctly.

Could it be my case wiring is defective? My mobo? my cpu? I got 0701 revision for the mobo. How do I figure out what is wrong...

I finally got my system up and running, the problem was the jumpers, the clear rtc ram cap was set to clear rtc, I had to move the cap back to normal (default). After moving back to default, I did some testing with a screwdriver with the power switch pins, to test if the system would turn on. Voila! it did. I will never make this mistake again when building a pc....

Time for me to learn how to overclock e6600 conroe, is there any guides out there? Thanks.

Sorry man, sounds funny, but go buy like 20 combos CPU+mobo+ram before you start OCing, cuz it looks like you gonna need 'em 🙂
😛
