If FIVR is coming to Cannonlake-DT (assuming that is even a thing), it will likely require a new motherboard as a result of the (re) inclusion of FIVR.

Still boggles my mind that people are allowed to post confidential info on LinkedIn.

Seems like mainstream Cannonlake is only going to be U/Y and perhaps Xeon-D. You'd still get Cannonlake-X in 2018 though.

FIVR is by far the most efficient way to handle power management in mobile devices. Hopefully 10nm will allow this power management to be integrated without greatly increasing TDP.

What does this mean for the Skylake-X platform? I was hoping that the next HEDT platform would last three gens.

Yeah, I thought that this was announced/leaked a while ago. Pretty sure there's a discussion about it in the forum from that era, too.
