New honorable mention:

Sgt. Slaughter (WWF)
Sgt. Schultz (Hogan's Hero's)
Sgt. Friday (Dragnet)
Sgt. Barnes (Platoon)
Sgt. Winslow (The cop who didn't shoot Erkul)
Sgt. Rock

Sgt. Nick Fury and his Howlin' Commandos, you schwienhund! Mein Gott!

(those comics taught iD everything they needed to know about the German language.)

Sgt. John Basilone

He was the only enlisted Marine ever to be awarded the Medal of Honor and the Navy Cross.

One part that isn't really mentioned was that at one point he picked up his Browning M1917 .30 machine gun (this) and carried it firing into the Japanese lines.
