is this a good idea? seems like a good idea.

has any1 done this mod?

depending on when it's released here in Australia & for what price, i plan on getting a Hercules prophet GTS 2 with 64meg of RAM. i plan on overclocking it to the max. i was recently looking at my removed P3 heatsink a fan of it and thought this could be a good setup my my new card. i'd cut the ends of the heatsink of. drill a couple of holes in the heatsink and then fix it too the board with a couple of screws. IS THERE ENOUGH ROOM UNDER THE HEATSINK AND THE COMPONENTS? IF NOT COULD I PUT A PIECE OF MACHINED COPPER PLATE BETWEEN THE HEATSINK AND THE CHIP, PUT THERMAL COMPOUND ON BOTH SIDES OF THE COPPER PLATE? also if the P3 fan isn't powerful enough i could cut it of and fit a 60mm ystech fan to it.

GOOD MOD HEY? I THINK THIS COULD DO WONDERS IN KEEPING IT COOL WITH THAT HUGE P3 HEATSINK.

Ummm... People use 486 heatsink/fan combos (which can be purchased for $7 at Radio Shack) to cool their video cards. I have a hard time picturing how you're going to attach a long Slot-1 fan to a square "GPU".

And I think the card that you're buying is already going to come with some kind of heatsink/fan attatched to it.
