Fitting a 90-92mm fan on an SK-7?

Has anyone got a 90-92mm fan mounted on an 80mm heatsink? I presume it could be possible and would just require bending the 80mm mounting wires somewhat, but has anyone got any practical experience, and would it bring any massive benefits?

And just out of interest, is it possible to buy mounting wires (same type as the 80mm ones that come with the heatsink) built for a 90mm fan for an 80mm heatsink like the SK-7? Cheers! :D:beer:

I couldn't access this forum since yesterday.

But yes, an 92mm fan will fit an sk7. It will require bending of at least one clip. You'll need to do this with the heatsink not installed. Otherwise you risk crushing the core. The fan will not be centered, but no biggie.

It may or may not help cooling the cpu, depending on the fan. Mainly the overflow air helps cool surrounding components like the north bridge, the mosfets, ram, etc..

And as far as I know, you can't get clips just to fit a 92mm fan. They want you to buy their slk900 or slk900a. :D
