fitting 2 7800 512 or 7900 gtx on dfi ultra?

the reason i asked is that i'm looking at a possible upgrade to 7900 gtx sli
but that depends if i can even fit 2 on my motherboard with those enormous heatsink


would the accelero x1 or zalman cooler fit on thosec cards?
 
The X1 fits the 7800 series, isnt the pcb for the 7900 series the same ? If so, I dont see a problem...
 
i'm hoping that i can just stick 2 7900 gtx in my system without modding anything

of course, that's only if it's priced at $650 or less
preferrably $550 like the xtx 😉
 
i would've went for crossfire with the x1900 xt in a heartbeat if i have a crossfire motherboard

too bad i only have the dfi ultra
 
Are you PCI-e slots side by side ? Or is there a standard PCI between them ?
 
there's a standard pcie x1 slot in between

from a review (guru3d) of the 512 gtx sli
they used a gigabyte motherboard in which its spacing is similar to the one i have

and they had just enough room to fit both in
so i assume i can do this too
