I have to wonder what the chances of seeing out of that eye is!

Video <- WARNING! NOT for the weak! :Q

Of all the places to get hooked, sheesh that's bad! Silly people with their careless casting. 😉

Oh sweet Jesus! I don't even know what the hell I would do if that happened to me... tahnk God for a good eye doc...

There is no way I'm clicking on that link

Injuries like cuts or punctures to the eye, toe nails flipping 90 degrees just make me curl up into a ball.

why is the eye a goner? it seems bad, but it didnt rip it from the nerve or rip the eyeball open. im not saying it didnt hurt like sh!t, but i bet the eye didnt stop working completely.

OUCH!!

It's amazing what they can do with eyes though.

My sister got hit in the eye with a stick thrown by another kid when we were kids back in Indiana WAY back in the EARLY 60's. It MASHED HER EYE! The doctors thought she would loose it, or, even if they COULD save it, she would be blind. They took it out, stitched it back together and put it back and to this day she STILL has 20/20 vision in that eye! And this was a LONG LONG time ago.

Thank the Mayo Clinic in Indianapolis for THAT ONE!

 Good eye doc. badluck for the patient, but most likely the eye can be healed/restored. The lens can be replaced w/ artificial ones. They have artificial lenses that are superior to our own biological lenses because they never cloud/stiffen w/ age. It's a fairly new development, and people who get the lens never have to use reading glasses ever in their lifetime.

 for medical advancements.

I clicked it against my better judgement. I should have listened to myself. That was fvckin gross.

I was float tubing fly fishing at Amador reservoir in California when I got a hook in my thumb
accidentally when the tip of the rod jerked and sunk the hook. It would have been easy to remove except for one thing...the fvcking barb. It was impossible to get it out without tearing my thumb wide open, so we drove to Jackson emergency where the doctor got it out in 5 minutes.
He anesthesized my thumb used pliers(whatever medical pliers are called i don't know) to jam the hook deeper in the wound to get it passed the barb and quickly yanked it out. Cost 350.00. How much do you think that eye procedure cost? Ouch.

The problem with fishing hooks is the barb, without them hooks come out easy. I thought when this happened what if it had got in my eye so I fish only with barbless hooks or bend barbed hooks over with pliers. Of course wearing eye protection is also a good idea. I actually sent a e=mail to the California fish and game website suggesting they outlaw barbed hooks for sport fishing. I never got a reply from them .

Oh man, that's gross. I got hooked once by my dad. It was a treble hook and 2 of the 3 barbed prongs were sunk in my wrist under the veins. I had to have minor surgery to get it out and the scar is still there 30 years later.

My dad laughs about it now. 🙁

I'd bet on his eye being fine. Eyes are incredibly resilient. I've been hooked in the thumb before, but I removed it myself.
