Please recommend a spin casting reel for salmon. I will be using it for casting from shore, and trolling on the odd occasions.
I broke the cheap spin casting reel on the first chinook salmon this season, and it was only 15 lbs. And, we caught an additional 17 pink salmon with the ugly stiks and cheap trolling reels. Total fishing time was 4 hours.
PS. The most successful lure was a gold/chrome fish spoon, next up was a green/chrome with black spots spoon, cop car chrome with black spots spoon also did well, and the pink squid hoochie was the one that caught the chinnook.
