Fish attacks fisherman!

ok this really sucks, cause i'm on Mac on Safari and want to see this but i can't. can someone host the vide somewhere?
 
The video isn't that great ... basically it's all off-camera, just shows a marlin jumping around ...
 
I was watching a fishing show a number of years ago where a guy was fishing for Tarpon - he hooked a big one (probably 5 or 6 feet long, if not bigger) and brought it to the side of the little skiff he was fishing in. When he got down on his knees to get the hook out, the fish started to jump out of the water, and hit the poor guy square in the face with it's shaking head. I believe it broke the guy's nose.

i don't see why that makes him sound like a dumb@ss... seems like a perfectly reasonable explanation to me.
 
Heh, they're trying to kill the thing, they've got it hooked on a line and are pulling it toward the boat, and then when it it ends up thrashing around the boat they say it attacked them.

That's like saying that a woman attacked a man when he tied her up and was dragging her to his car, and she flailed around and kicked him in the groin by chance.
 
What the hell are they doing? That fish has way too much energy still to be pulling it in to the boat. When I've gone deep sea fishing by the time the marlin got to the boat it was so tired it just kinda swam very docile on the side of the boat.

It looks like they were using a mechanical winch or some other aid to reel it in. No way someone has enough power to reel in a 600 pound marlin IN MIDAIR (who seems to be still fighting) regularly by hand. That fish's body is almost all muscle and one flap is so much power, they are lucky that thing didn't kill one of them.

or, it's like saying that a bear attacked a hunter when he lassoed it and was trying to drag it towards him and the bear decided to just go after the hunter.

Well, whether it was intentional or not 😉, why are people whining about it. If you go hunting and a bear kills you despite your having a technical advantage, so be it. I would like to see people wrestle the animals they kill - I KNOW it sounds stupid but it would be more fair and certainly more interesting :laugh:
 
Attacking him my ass, the damn Marlin is hooked and they're bringing it onto the stupid boat. The one dude just pulls too hard and it flys at them. This is such crap.
