First YAST: A good techinque for buying a Scooter?

Whoooo Hoooo : First YAST in history

Over the past couple of summers, my friend has been looking for a scooter to get him around town cheaply just in the summer. He has a 96 golf, but has always wanted to have a scooter for some reason 😛 Near his house, someone is selling a 87 Honda Scooter for 600 or best offer. The scooter is in decent shape, but could use minor work. He was unsure about the mileage, but he said it might have had 130K on it. I told him to offer them like 350 for it straight out. I was also thinking about pretending to be interested in it, only to lowball the offer, and then have him offer just higher than I did. I am sure these people are pretty desperate for money and would take just about any offer. Do you guys think that would work?

But yeah, i think they look silly. That 'naked chef' guy rides around in a scooter... LOL

yeah thats what i thought.. I knew my friend was smoking crack 😛.. i have yet to see the scooter yet, but I will hav to check it out tomorrow... not quite sure why he wants one, but this would be a lot cheaper than the 2500 dollar one he was litterally about to buy last week 🙂

I have a scooter (96 Honda Elite CH80). They are pefect for around town. I don't think they are "G8Y"
 
I want to get a vespa, and yes its for around town cause I hate using my car.. I wish I could get by without a car but its impossible.
