First Windows 10 Update available

Happened automatically on mine.. at 7:36 am this morning it checked for updates and 7:38 started downloading..
 
It's the first build update since the initial preview release, there is already at least one windows update for it. I did a clean install as the updated install got a little weird on me.

Yeah, ZDNet did not define it properly in the title. It's a new build, not simply an "Update." I can't help but wonder if, besides adding new features, this is a test of how users respond to Windows OS updates through the web, vs buying physical media. I will say it worked flawlessly on my VM.
 
Is this showing up on windows update for you guys? I just checked and didn't have anything new.

Anyone know where I could download the update manually?

It's not an Update in the traditional sense - one accesses it from PC Settings. I don't have my 10 PC here in the office, so I can't immediately walk you through the simple process, but you have to deliberately and explicitly request it be installed. Easy, but not automatic.

Oddly, that feature is missing from the new build (just checked) but bbhaag is right so far the prior build. Maybe they are simply going to use the regular windows update henceforth.
 
Thanks guys, I looked for it but didn't look in that menu at first. I got it now.

I just changed the Preview build setting to fast also. I wonder if that means that it will go through windows update now or just use the same menu.

Strange.. new build isn't allowing me to use CUDA for encodes now, even after I updated w/new Nvidia drivers..
 
I just put another drive in my testing computer. It had a Windows 7 install on it (for the testing computer). I downloaded and installed the original preview release, then downloaded and installed the updated release. Everything seemed to go well but I again saw blurred fonts and slower response times. This time, installing the two updates from Windows Update seemed to cure both problems.

And the check for new builds feature remains on this install after the updates.

This install is 32 bit so I saved the esd from the upgrade. Easy way to find it is to install Search Everything beforehand. Let Everything build its database. Then when you do the upgrade, prior to clicking the INSTALL button, search Everything for *.esd .
