First try at Overclocking, help!

I have a AMD 4000+ and overclocked it to 2.7.

I'm wondering if this is safe to run and if I can go any more (Maybe 3.0). The temp is at idel but under a 10 min stress test it went up to 60 at the most. I have 4 fans but stock cooling for the CPU. Am I doing anything wrong or is this all okay?

That's pretty good for a stock fan, I wouldn't recommend goin 3.0 without a better fan..

Agreed - getting over 60C is approaching the limits, and considering it's not the middle of summer yet, then when things get warmer, that 60C could turn into 65-70C degrees, which is nearing frying time.

Thanks guys. Now If I were to get a CPU cooler, lets say the IFX-14 for kicks. Would I be able to get 3.0 or higher? The HTT settings on there wont let me go past 3.0, does that mean its all my mobo can handle?

If your board can't handle HTT speeds high enough to take you past 3.0 ghz, then you are limited by the board. Whether or not the extra 300 mhz is worth it is up to you, but I doubt you'd need an IXF-14 to get there . . . wouldn't hurt though.
