First true widescreen - use question

I just got my first true widescreen, an Acer 24inch wide 1900x1220. So I fired it up and it looks great, but what the heck do you do with all the real estate? Doing regular web browsing, I get these huge gray areas on each side of the page. Trying to resize the browser to fit is kind of a hassle for no real benefit. Sometimes I find myself looking way to the right to read stuff, so moving it is almost necessary. I'm just wondering if anyone has hints, tips, techniques for using such a wide screen for anything not ready for 1900 wide.

take your internet browser, scale it to the size it was befor you got your widescreen, and use the rest of the landscape for othe apps

I think it should be somewhat self explanatory. Usually I either have two windows open or I am watching TV/movie along with an open app or browser. It's not really intended for the browser to be full screened.
