I'm setting up a wireless network for the first time. I know very little about wireless networking, so I'm just looking for some general advice, or maybe a link to a beginner's guide (haven't been able to find one on my own).

I want to create a network that allows me to use my old school Inspiron 4100 anyplace in my house. Currently, my desktop is connected to a non-wireless router. I also want to stream audio, video, and images to my stereo/tv wirelessly. I've done a quick search on pricegrabber, and am considering the following products:

D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G Wireless Router

Linksys Wireless G 54Mbps PC Card

D-Link DSM-320RD MediaLounge 802.11g Wireless Media Player with DVD

Any thoughts on those choices? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks for the input! What exactly is DD-WRT? Also, it looks like the Apple TV is actually thirty bucks more than the D-Link Media Player, and it doesn't have a DVD player and card reader. Any other reason why it is a better product?
