First time trying to mod my case...

Hey, I've decided I want to start modding my case! The first thing I want to do is put an LCD display, most likely a matrix orbital or something like that. I have never cut a case before and I don't know which tool I should get. I have an chieftec/antec x-pider aluminum case, can I use a dremel to cut through the top panel? Or do I need something with more power? Can someone either post or tell me the steps I should take before doing the cut? Thanks!
