First time shave, Gillete or electric?

I need to shave off some my growing mustache before school starts. This'll be the first time I've ever needed to shave. Gillete sent me a Mach3 a while back but I never needed it up until now. But I also got a cheap Conair electric combo trimmer and shaver. For a first timer, which one would you reccomend? I don't plan on shaving that often. I am leaning toward the Gillete right now but I don't want to cut up my upper lip (only place need to shave) and look stupid when I go back to the dorms. THanks
 
Awwww - use the Mach 3 - it'll last you MONTHS 😛 Shave it often - that peach fuzz scraggly facial hair doesn't look good. Make sure you don't have any renegade hairs on the rest of your face - give the rest of your face a quick swipe just to make sure everything is smooth.

I've never cut myself with my Mach3 🙂
 
I've been using a Gilette for years and I've never so much as nicked myself using it.

I got a cheapo electric one year for Christmas and it mowed my face off, particularly my upper lip. It was gushing blood into my mouth it was so bad.
And the rest of my face didn't even get a close, smooth shave. It still felt stubbly and rough afterwards.

I will always stand by my Gilette Mach 3.

I have never ever used any electric shaver that could get as close and smooth as a razor can. Plus, I hear if you use the electric ones (with the circular motion) it causes the hair to grow back in all kindsa wacky directions ruining the grain of your beard, should you ever decide to grow one. I just keep an electric one around for when I need to do clean myself up quick and get out the door fast.

Edit: I shave down first, then up. Anybody else do it this way?
 
It's probably for boarding school, or private school, tehy have dorms too. Use mach 3...i'm still using the one they sent me when I was 16

hehe i dont need to shave very often

once a fortnight if that.....ive been a swimmer since i was 6, and im not a particularly hairy guy (read no crabs ladder - the hair from your willy up to your naval, and until recently fairly hairless legs)

but i dont mind, and actually take pride in the fact im not hairy, it shows my muscle tone alot more. im actually a source of envy for my friends, they hate having to shave everyday

Haha, how'd you guess? I guess I'm lucky in that sense. I've read how guys can like grow a beard in 2 days and I'm waiting for my facial hair to be even noticible. 🙂.
 
Mach 3! BOOM!

Seriously, its the best. I use it everyday. I only got cut once when a friend of mine ran into me while shaving. Ouch.

Mach 3 is good, but get a decent cream, espescially if it's your first time. Defintely use a blade IMHO.

I recomend Noxzema shaving cream.
