Ok, first off system stuff:
Soyo Dragon kt400 platinum (black edition)
AMD 2000+
Thermaltake Volcano 9
Artic Silver III
Corsair XMS3000 512mb
Radeon 9700 Pro
Western Digital 80gig Special Editions x2 Raid 0
Powermax 400 watt power supply
3 80mm Cooler Master case fans
With everything set to default, the CPU under load reaches 30 degrees celcius and they both work fine. I have 2 of these systems, both identical (well almost, different cases, one a black board other a platinum board). I want to run both systems at 200mhz bus speed.
I know the bios has the options to change the multiplier, but do I still need to unlock the processors?? If so, what is the best way (especially for a beginner) to unlock them?? Some people tell me the pencil mod does work, some tell me it doesn't. I have read the Guide at Tom's Hardware, and being a beginner, I know I will screw it up somehow!!
Is this powersupply enough for the system in it's overclocked state??
