First time Nvidia user need some help

Just installed my GTX 970

Downloaded the latest drivers from here http://www.geforce.com/drivers

Installed them (except for GeForce experience which I did not want to install)

Rebooted my PC

Nothing is showing up in task manager

And in the Nvidia folder in my start menu there is only listings for 3d Vision

Where is the display driver software? Like where I would create my settings and so forth.

Right-click on the desktop, you'll see Nvidia Control Panel, thats what you want. Click that and it opens up the Nvidia Control Panel.

It's amazing, my whole PC seems to be running better with the Nvidia card in it. GTA 5 loads up twice as fast, Unigine Heaven loads practically instantly. I can just feel my CPU breathing a sigh of relief as it doesn't have to deal with that extra load the AMD DX11 driver puts on it. No stutters when I spin the camera while driving or crash into things.

Really? I still have a 7950, Unigine loads instantly as well.

But definitely GTA V, the 970 is heaps faster than 7950, its something you should instantly notice. But there is no DX11 "extra load" for AMD in GTA V.

Eurogamer's bench with i3, i5, i7 on a wide range of GPUs already proved that.

I sure hope so. The GTX 970 better be faster than your old 7950.

There is definitely an increased load on the CPU when running AMD GPU's versus Nvidia. I noticed it especially in Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. I would get frame drops with only 50% gpu utilization. Points to a CPU bottleneck. Yet I am running a 4 ghz intel i5. With the Nvidia card, its pegged at 91fps the entire time.

It does exist. But it's game dependent. Its worse in GW titles than neutral ones.

GTA V is very CPU bottleneck, but its not worse on AMD than NV when investigated properly.

Dying Light was horrible on AMD, poor GPU usage, CPU was pegged. Until devs patched it up.
