First Time Motorcycle

Hello,

I am getting ready to do my Motorcycle License. (Aug 05), Anyway I am in search of a motorcycle. I was looking at maybe 250-400cc range. Nothing too big or too powerful.

I am only about 5'3" and about 120 lbs. So something smaller would be cool. Obviously on a budget. Which ones should I be looking at

thaks
Phil

oh man,
you'll need something really short. Definitely a cruiser - you won't reach on a sport bike without lowering it like crazy. Check out the eliminator 125

Well you could try a Kawasaki Ninja 250. Maybe a Honda Rebel, or perhaps a Yamaha Virago 250 if you like cruisers.

There is a good short bike list here. If you are looking for something cheap and reliable I would suggest a Kawasaki KZ250, KZ305 or KZ400/440. I started on a KZ250 and there is hardly an easier bike to learn on. It has a low seat height, relaxed riding position, easy clutch, only 300 pounds, no plastic to break in a drop, dirt cheap, simple air-cooled engine and some were even made with belt drive (less maintenance). A great place for info on the KZ bikes is KZ Rider.

If getting on the highway is a concern, go for the 400/440. These old bikes can usually be sold for the same price you paid when you get around to upgrading(if you choose to).

Suzuki Savage is a cool lit6tle cruiser. It's a 1-cyl, 500 or 650cc.
