First time LCD buyer needs advice

Pretty much limited to choices since I'm using a store gift certificate. Tried to find the recommended ones from the LCD buyer's guide but they don't carry any of them. One that I'm leaning towards on is the Samsung 960BF but already saw three or four bad reviews from users some sites saying it has bad ghosting. I'll mainly use this for video editing and occasional games. Is this a bad choice? If so, could you recommend any from this list. If nothing fancy you on that list, maybe something on this 17" list.
