First time I was happy to miss a flight...

Sat on the runway for over an hour before departing to Chicago, then once I got into O'Hare we taxied around the damn thing on the ground for another 25 minutes. Missed my flight down to Phoenix. Checked into the next flight and they bumped me up to first class.

Last week a friend of mine was flying back to Phoenix from the Virgin Islands. She was in a hurry to come home, so she passed up an offer to give up her ticket, get a night's stay in the hotel free and get paid $450 for doing so.

first class bump is good, my sis and her husband got bumped because of over boking and they got 2 600$ vouchers and 2 first class upgrades

Yeh, the vouchers can get pretty insane. Two coworkers of mine got the same deal a few months back. Free hotels and $600 a piece in vouchers. Nice

Anyone know what kind of hotel they put you up in when you volunteer to give up your seat? Is it usually decent places or total dirtholes?

if its a big airport its the one at the airport which is usially pretty decent, other then that i think the closest one, typically a Hilton, holiday in .....
