Because if I wanted peanuts in my dinner I'd eat Goobers and Crackjacks. Peanuts and coconut are candy fillings, not ingredients in a dinner menu. Trust me, get your Pad Thai extra spicy and it's plenty different from so many other noodle dishes.

Ummmm, not if your dinner menu is for Thai food.

Glad to know you like Thai food. I use to work at my Aunt's restaurant in West Philadelphia. I cooked Thai and Laotian food. All those good stuff, man I miss eating it since I don't have time to go there to eat all the time.

Me, I like the Thai seafood. Calamari and scallops seem the favorites when cooking Thai (very little fish from what I've seen? Sometimes crab, sometimes shrimp - but ALWAYS with Calamari and scallops!) And, of course, REALLY, REALLY spicy. Oh, yeah.

In Bend, we have 'Toomies', which kicks ass. In the Cleveland, OH area (where I came from) 'Lemon Grass' is the restaurant to hit.

My faves are chicken Phad Thai (noodles, peanuts, fish sauce -- use the lemon or lime if they give you one), and Thai sweet & sour chicken or fish (much lighter and more flavorful than the sauce in Chinese sweet & sour).

Curry is awesome. I usually prefer Indian curry .... (Egg curry anyone?) however, Thai curry is awesome too.

I absolutely  Thai food. They are also generally healthier than Chinese food (probably the ones I'm talking about are mostly Americanized).

I *LOVE* Thai food. My favorite dish is Pad Prik Cra Pow (chicken with a spicy basil sauce). Fortunately for me, we have two excellent Thai restaurants here in the Raleigh area.

Well now you guys know how I eat most nights :D

Parents are great cooks. Cambodia is south of Thailand so my parents know how to cook Thai and Vietnamese food also. And Chinese food (+ takeaway) as we own one.

I would have to second the recommendation of this dish. I like to add white onion and fresh pea pods and get it super hot. Great stuff!!!! Makes you have a whole new respect for white rice because you'll be cramming it into your mouth after it's on fire!!!

Fresh rolls are awesome too. chicken, veggies, cilantro all wrapped in a rice paper shell. the dipping sauce has peanuts in it, of course. yummy stuff.

Try Pad Thai next time, with Thai Ice Tea.

Stop by Wat Mongkultepmunee in Bensalem, PA and dine with the monks there. Just remember to come by before noon as the monks don't eat after noon. They won't even ask you for a donation, but you ought to at least stay for the chanting, which is pretty cool in and of itself. On weekends, hundreds of people drop by for food and meditation.
