thanks everyone, just fixed my problem. Took out the mobo and heard beeps......finally......the culprit was there was a unused "mounting bracket" to set the mobo on.....it was near the cpu......took that out, put everything back in, and everything worked. much appreciated...

Glad you got the problem solved. I was getting ready to tell you to try the mobo on the outside of the case. That is what you should try when you've tried and tried and its still perplexing you. if you can get it working on the outside of the case, try to reseat it into the case and be very careful it doesn't touch any of the metal on the case.

it was working, but when i was installing w2k, and it asked to reboot to finish installation, it went dead again. Now the monitor seems dead, cuz i tried plugging it into another comp, and nothing. Is it possible for the monitor to die from this? Now, what is wrong with the motherboard? It won't boot now and its having the same problem as before...now what to do?



How tight should I screwed down the screws to hold the mobo in place. I should be using metal screws that came with the case right?
Guess I'm gonna take it out of the case agian and test it. I'm bummed out that I lost a monitor in this little adventure.
