Noticed error in title.. fixed it.

PLEASE when you POST threads asking for input on system builds tell us
...

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

  • I will be doing gaming and programming.(Lots of visual studio and also I plan to play some csgo, gtav and arma 3)

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

  • $1100 (you can go a little over, but not by much please)

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

  • USA

4. IF you're buying parts OUTSIDE the US, please post a link to the vendor you'll be buying from.
We can't be expected to scour the internet on your behalf, chasing down deals in your specific country... Again, help us, help YOU.

5. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.

  • I just want whoever can do the job the best.

6. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

  • The only thing I do have is a 120gb SSD I got off my brother and I will install my OS on it.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

  • I'm not really comfortable with overclocking, it looks to be to risky. I'll take non- overclocking.

8. What resolution, not monitor size, will you be using?

  • 1920 X 1080 please

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Note that it is usually not cost or time effective to choose your build more than a month before you actually plan to be using it.

  • I'll be ready to pull the trigger Monday of next week.

10. Do you need to purchase any software to go with the system, such as Windows or Blu Ray playback software?

  • No

If you guys can, please use amazon and newegg. I have prime membership and I know they offer free 2day shipping for many items on the site.

Also I am using my laptop to type this. I do not have a gaming keyboard, mouse, or monitor.

Hmm, looks ok but, I don't have a monitor, keyboard or mouse. You have any suggestions? These things need to be factored into the budget. Might even consider amd. Heard the 8350 can hold up.

Wow...didn't think a 970 would fit in here, although, the 40$ psu is kind of scary. My brother told me to never cheap out on a psu. Other than the psu, everything else looks pretty freaking awesome. Also, I thought the xeons were meant for servers only. Will it work for gaming?

Think of Xeon E3's like low-end i7's. This one doesn't have onboard graphics, so you need to use that video card, but it does have hyper-threading, which should help your VS work and GTA V.

Nice. For that price, to be getting something in the 'i7' range, is a steal. The only thing that bother me now is that after doing a bit of research, i found out the 970 only uses up to 3.5gb of vram. Will this effect my play of newer games like gta5 or even MGS 5?

If you are planning on gaming, consider higher clock speeds and the option to be able to overclock in future if you want to play around... i7 will give you very little advantage over i5 for gaming. personally, for your price range I would cut some other corners and go all the way and get a i7-4790k 😀

Never cared much for overclocking at all. I usually just avoid K series all together. I will mostly just push my graphics settings to just high instead of ultra and also I'm going to be doing quite a bit of programming so really I'm not that bothered about getting the highest clock speeds/fps. ANYTHING is an upgrade from my shitty laptop that can barely play youtube videos at 480p.
