Hello all.
I am putting together everything, but i thot let me try it first with my mobo out of the case and test it. I tried both, only 1 stick of ram and then with 2, but same problems. No Hdd connected yet.

1) First of all... as soon as i plug the power cable, and turn on the switch of the power supply, all my fans in my out of box mobo start spinning, eventhough i havent turned on the power switch on my case. But the system doesnt start... only fans. Then i have to press the power button of my case n then i get a post.
Anyone knows what this could be?

2) After it prompts me to for bios i skip em...says system updated... Checking DMI Pool-
After 2-3 lines... it says

PXE-E61 Error, Media Test Failure, check cables
Exiting PXE-Rom

I get this error even without a floppy connected, or without my single Satta connected, even when i connect 1 of these or all of these. Anyone knows what this PXE -E61 is?

3)Also do Sata hard disks have only 1 cable (orange) for both data and power connection? unlike the IDE which have 1 separate cable for data transmision and 1 cable for power connection? Because my Sata i have it connected on Sata 4 and does not show up anywere in Bios, eventhough i enabled sata3/4 and also enabled Raid configuration for 3/4 then i dissabled the Satta Raid, but still doesnt show up at all... Any solutions?

p.s. i havent installed an OS yet...

double check the wiring from your mobo to the power switch in your case. I always end up reversing at least one pair of leads.

yes, SATA drives have a separate power cable ;)

Regarding question #1 - I think Yossarian was refering to your power switch wiring, from the case switch to the motherboad. You might want to check and make sure you have those wired to the correct pins on the motherboard.

Another long shot might be a short between the motherboard and the case. Did you use only the prescribed number of standoffs in the prescribed locations?

I was testing Mobo outside the case... so nothing was shorting out...
As for the PXE error i found on other forumsthat it might need to change smthn on bios.. will try it tonite..
But i also saw other plp having the same problem I am having with these Neo2 boards that once they turn on the PSu switch... whole boards fans start spinning... even when they dont connect any front panel connectors... very strange!
I hate MSI for having such stupid issues... when they can be number 1
