First time build help

Looking for some help on my first build guys.

1. Pc will be used for gaming on max and programs usage such as photoshop and flash cs5.
2. Budget- $1100
3. Buying parts from usa
4. Brands- intel cpu, dont really care for the brands of the other parts as long as its reliable.
5. I plan on overclocking later on when i get the hang if how everything works.
6. Resolution- i dont kno what resolution but i want the max? I want to get a 21-24inch monitor though.
7. I want to start building the pc as soon as possible.

I already bought some parts already because they were on sale. (cpu,mobo,cooler)

Cpu- i5 2500k
Mobo- Asrock extreme4 gen3
Gpu- Asus 7850
Rams- g.skill value series 1333 8gb
SSD- crucial m4 128gb
HDD- seagate barracuda 1tb
Tower- antec 300 2
Cooler- hyp 212+
PSU- 550w


what do you guys think about these parts?

You should be able to return DOA parts for no cost (aside from making the trip to the store), but there is usually a time limit (usually 15 or 30 days). Hence the primary reason why I'd always suggest against buying parts for a system over a long period of time if you don't have a rig you can test the parts in.

Does the $1100 budget include the price of the monitor and OS?

Also while you were at MC you probably should have just picked up some cheap 8GB set of ram for <$40.
 
Just to add onto krn's point, you can still return defective parts after 30 days, you just have to send it in to the manufacturer rather than the retailer. This is usually more of a hassle. Even if the company's customer service is great you still have to arrange to ship it, wait for the return, etc.
 
You want more input and I want an answer to my question on the budget lol. Why does it matter? Because an OS + Monitor is easily going to drain $250 to $350 depending on the type of monitor you want/get.

That aside, the parts that you posted up there seem like good parts aside from the fact that you have nothing there for your PSU.
