First time ATI user needs to fix dll error

Pulled a PNY gforce 3 card out of my Shuttle an35 ultra nforce 2 mobo for another build. Replaced with a new jetway 9600LE. ( from hot deals thankyou )
Didn't work, used nasty file remover to remove all nvidia, it did, including audio and mobo drivers - wasn't thinking. Reloaded drivers reinstalled the ATI and video works fine. Absoutely no audio, no reload would work, couldn't do system restore - gave up on audio since I had a previous problem anyway and had installed a cheap 5.1 pci (far awhile back from hot deals thankyou) all's well with audio.

Problem is since the first nasty file remover run I have two dll errors on windows load: nvcpl.dll and nvmctray.dll that I don't know how to get rid of.

Afraid to remove nvidia noforce drivers from add/remove programs but I did remove the nforce utiltities and don't really want to run NFR again, any way to fix this?

I take it your running XP if you tried to roll back, so...

Start -> Run -> type "msconfig" (no quotes)

Go to the "startup" tab and look through it for those DLLs. Both of the DLLs that you listed are typically in windows startup if you've used any recent nvidia driver. Uncheck them, save and reboot.

I'd also recommend that you use Driver Cleaner for future reinstall/uninstalls.

Thanks Rent, I finally got around to trying this and it worked just fine. Thanks for the info on driver cleaner, I'll need this when I move this card to it's next home at Xmas.
