I will be upgrading to the following System and trying my hand at ocing.....I do have some questions so any feedback would be great.

1) Case: Enlight 7237

2) Motherboard: Abit BE6

3) CPU: P3-700 (stepping cCO) Trying to get to atleat 933mhz.....
Any voltage and FSB suggestions?
I recently read an article on Ocing that suggested taking off backplate to improve cooling (any thoughts?)

4) HSF: Alpha 3125 with dual Thermaltake TT-6025A fans (Also a 3rd Sunnon Fan if I need it)
The article indicated that you can put a 3rd fan on the other side of the CPU if you take off the backplate. (???)

http://thetechzone.com/articles/how_to/p3_no_backplate/page2.html

5) Power Supply (Enermax 250watt) Is this going to handle overclocking?

6) One 80mm front case fan
Do I need a rear and if so, (what size) and back to question 5 again.

7) Ram: 256mb Crucial CAS2 133

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

well try increasing the FSB little by little until you get the stablest and fastest. I think the cooling is enough for dual fan, yep remove the back plate for more heat desipation and also if you think the overclock needs more cooling add the 3rd fan too, and also try the multipliers first before the FSB, ey about my tips and feedback sorry if it is not that much professional in sense and grammar it's because this is the way i overclock mine.

Im assuming ur P3 is a katmai (since you will remove the back plate). Removing the plate will only decrease the temp by 1-3C..... i say its not worth it considering the fact that you will need to attach the hsf of your choice by other means then the regular pin-clip on the back plate.

Also i dont wanna sound to pesimistic here but getting a 933Mhz out of a 700Mhz processor, i dont know. I got my p3 550 stable at 606Mhz which is 56Mhz more. That equals to only 10% of speed increase. Assuming you may have similar results, you shoud aim for 770Mhz, well ok around 800Mhz. If its not a katmai then you may get the 933Mhz, i wouldnt know i didnt have a coppermine. I just dont wanna see your expectations turn into dust man.........aim for a low #, anything that you may get above the goal........ then thats great.

My suggestion is that you use the "SEARCH" function of this board; you can tap into literally thousands of forum-member experiences that way, learn alot about the limits of the technology, and find out lots of information which comes in handy to know about your system's prospects at a successful overclock:).

hmm on my old BE6 I had my Celery II 566 @ 952mhz stable as hell with just a Golden orb and 1.80v :)

With decent cooling you should have little problem getting to 933mhz (though to do so you'll be overclocking your graphics card to 89mhz). I have a cB0 stepped P3 700 FC-PGA version (all P3 700s are Coppermines, btw.) and can get to 980mhz with 1.75v. I currently run day-to-day at 933mhz with 1.65v.

A 250W power supply should be fine for a Pentium III - they don't require as much wattage as an Athlon processor.
