I just got my first sound system. The z-5300e from logitech. I need the rear speakers a little louder (or the front quieter and the back louder) so the sound is not so loud just in the front of my system. The center, front left and rights are nice and loud.. but the backs are quiet and I'd like to hear them just as I do these front speakers. I tried a little bit in audio controls.. but I got no where.. The Speakers didnt come with a CD so I don't know if there was a control panel specificly designed for these to work the way I want them to or not. Any help appreciated it. Thanks

I'm not familiar with the z-5300 controls... My z-560s had a fade control and that controlled how loud the rears were.

You should be able to accomplish the same thing through your soundcard. There should be volume controls for each output jack (l/r, center/sub, surrounds). Either turn the surrounds volume up or turn everything else down and adjust overall volume to compensate.

I have on board sound. I don't have a sound card. Does that make the difference here?

I think you should still have a sound utility program that should allow you do set the volumes independently.

Did you try the "Fader" option on the speaker control? (i.e. the actual physical control) If that isn't enough for you, then you should be able to change it more using a sound util. like YOyo said. HTH.

The utility to do this should be bundled with the drivers for your onboard sound. Check the mobo CD, or better yet, see if there is an update at the mobo manufacturers website.

I have this thing called "Soundman" it showed exactly what you guys were talking about. The front 3 speakers (Front left/Right, center) worked fine but the back speakers.. nothing came out. Also: there is something in there that says "Click the speaker you wish to hear" I click the front left/right speakers and they work fine, the center speaker/subwoofer/back speakers make no noise. I dun know

Cars are far from the ideal environment for listening to music, but regardless many enthusiasts remove or unhook the rear speakers. I would if I drove much and/or if my car wasn't a sh!theap :p
