How old are you?

And ... probably because he wants you to do well and set an example for your brothers.

Because you're next in line to run the show if he passes suddenly. He can't leave his family in charge of some untrained moron.

My guess is that you're "slacking" and your dad wants you to set a positive example for your other brothers frankierx :)

get over it. i'm the first daughter of 3. your parents are experimenting with you, and it'll be something you'll have to get used to until you move out.

my middle and youngest sister had it much easier. it's called parenting. the parents are much stricter the first time because they don't want to do a bad job.

It's very likely because of that time he caught you trying on your mom's bras. That will make any dad flip out and go nuts.

My next younger brother (of three boys and a girl, I'm oldest) seems to get it the worst...strangely, my parents named him after my dad...not me.

Not in this family. Eldest is a brother and youngest is my sister. I'm in the middle. She is dealt with the hardest since she's a daughter and daughters are a MAJOR worry for asian parents, at least mine anyways.

That's kind of odd, my fiancee is Chinese, she's the eldest in her family. I agree that she seems to get the raw deal most times, her brother tends to side with her mom against her whenever possible, but they do get along pretty well the rest of the time. She's 25 though and still at home, her mom is pretty set against her moving out until she's married or at least engaged.

First children are always given the hardest time. Parents expect the first child to set an example of achievement for the others. It's a normal developmental trend seen in almost every family, so no worries.

I'm the first of four. I definitely got the brunt of it, but I'm not complaining. I do think it is my responsibility to set a positive example for the younger ones. My husband is the youngest of three sons. He felt ignored in his family and they seemed to have little expectation for him.
