We are expecting a significant snow event late this afternoon lasting till Friday afternoon. Currently we are under a snow-squall watch which will soon become a warning when conditions change later today.

Estimates are for 5 to 10 cm of snow here as well as blowing, drifting snow as snow-squalls hit SouthWestern Ontario today and overnight. Other locations may get over 15cm of snow.

Just a preview of what's coming this winter. Probably will be all gone by Saturday, I hope.

I am hoping we get buried again all winter like last year. I plan to fill the mountains with the sounds of my snowmobiles and the smell of two stroke smoke.

We have already had about a foot, but it is mostly gone. It is supposed to start snowing again over the next few days though, so that is good.

We had our first snow about 2 weeks ago here in eastern TN. It wasn't much accumulation but enough to get the local kids a 2 hour school delay.

lol no. Real men ride a boosted sled in bottomless powder, shredding all of the open hillsides and tracking up every bit of the backcountry, on and off trail (off trail riding is the only true riding). Skiers and snowshoers can follow our tracks if they want, but we rule the backcountry.

Bring it on; I can't wait to start snowboarding again. I'm hoping for another winter in the Northeast like we had a few years ago. Some of the snow piles in my neighborhood were ~8' high and winter wasn't even over yet. :)

How much is that in Freedom Units?

it's pretty darn cold outside and the wind is making it worse. The snow lasted 2 hours but not much accumulation.

we'll see what the night brings. I am glad I am back inside the apt.

We got a bit of snow here too, a couple cm. -18 feels like -28. Winter is here!

Suppose to warm up after this though. Overall our winters are still much warmer and shorter than they used to be.

I need to put my winter tires on but I need to finish my shed first and use up all the lumber in my garage so I can actually get to my tires. If it stays cold for when I get time off again I can finally finish it. It's always raining or threatening to rain so I can never work on it.

I hope we get some snow this year. As a Georgian we don't get more than a few snows a year. I'm fine with that, but we live on an incredible hilly street and I bought a kick ass sled last year, so I'd be super excited to get some icy streets and have some damn fun this year!
