I'm going to watch it tonight but honestly I'm not expecting much. I was a huge fan of the original comics from the 80s (helps that I know the writer) but this movie has nothing to do with those sadly.

It seems to have had nothing but issues getting made apparently.

Voltron was separate from Transformers, at least IMO. Never heard of MASK.

people were comparing inferior versions of the superior toy line. (Well, Linux mentioned it after your anti-Go-bot rant)

Transformers > Go-bots
Lion Voltron > Car/space vehicle Voltron
M.A.S.K. > GI Joe

If you were unaware of MASK (no one remembers MASK), then it's possible you are unaware of the car version of Voltron?

Keaton IS Batman. Batman (Keaton/Nicholson) is still the best Batman movie ever.

No matter what happens, BoberFett, you and I can always find a reason to be friends

Val Kilmer was actually pretty awesome, too. That movie just sucked. bad.

I'd say Keaton > Kilmer ~ Bale.

George Clooney should have been a good Bruce Wayne, at least, but he's just too clowny in general to be taken seriously for Bruce Wayne or Batman. Sometimes, simply being handsome isn't enough. also, there is an overwhelming stench that follows that movie.

Well yes I gathered it was a knock off/competitor to GI Joe, just never recall it.

My Voltron memory is the Lions and there was like another anime like it, I swear it was like Voltron II or something and there were a LOT more robots involved into making the "final form" Voltron.... But it could have very well had just been a bad guy in the normal Voltron series.

There were multiple Voltrons, but I think only the lion and vehicles actually had cartoons.

The 3 Gladiator ones had a cartoon in Japan... at least that's what i remember seeing. I saw a trailer for them, but never could find a show. It could have had to do with them calling it a different name though.

Man, I had the miniature or deluxe Voltron III as a child and I remember LOVING that damn thing. It was metal and AWESOME.

The Voltron I looks a little familiar because I remember the red plane on the chest, but don't recall the helicopters on the shoulders..

Didn't like it. Theater packed, but what do they know? They'll probably vote for trump too. :(

I do like Jared Leto. Can't believe this was the same guy in the movie Chapter 27.

Actors Viola Davis and Jared Leto made the movie hands down.

I grew up with both as a kid and I remember enjoying M.A.S.K., but I can't say it was better than GI Joe. I think it'd be more fair to rank M.A.S.K. to COPS for short lived new cartoons (at the time).

Me too.. I was surprised it wasn't as bad as I expected. It did however lose me when
they started fist fighting the Enchantress who seemed to be cosplaying Shakira. That's the only explanation I could figure out why she was hip shaking so much. Also, Crock was the worst I've seen in a while. Between the bad makeup and throwing in a Cajun accent for not real reason, he was just a train wreak. I'm also not a fan of Scarface Joker. To each their own, but I just felt like there wasn't enough to make him Joker and not some generic thug with tattoos.

Will Smith did much better than I expected though.

She's good looking, but the scene had zero relevance to the movie, so it just stood out for that reason.

It reminds me of a scene way, way back in a James Bond movie, where they decided to have a close up of the phone he used, which was IIRC a Sony Ericsson dumb phone (pre-smartphone era). It made absolutely no sense to have that closeup scene, except as a Nokia product placement, so it stuck out like a sore thumb.

Probably Casino Royale. Lots of Sony-Ericsson and Sony VAIO products. Fancy hotel / resort was using a Sony Blu-ray recorder for their security camera footage. Just silly.

Saw this today and it wasn't good. They should have made this an R rated movie.

Maybe they'll do the same thing they did with Batman vs. Superman... release the home version as a rated R just to trick people into seeing it who skipped the theaters, or seeing it again just to see what's different. The idea of a movie following around bad guys who are only being as bad as a 13 year old is allowed to see just seemed odd in the first place.

You said it, brother. I was never a comic book guy, Sergeant Rock/Our Army At War and Rat Patrol aside, but Keaton is just a damned fine actor.

That makes sense. It was actually the phone I owned at the time, the Sony Ericsson K800i. It seems if you google K800i and Casino Royale, you get a bazillion pics of both of them together:

BTW, owning these phones taught me that Sony is horrible at writing software for consumers. The phone hardware was nice, but the computer software for it was absolutely horrid. Apple (and then Google) dominated later not just because the phones were that much more advanced, but also because they had much better integration.

It's sort of like how Canon and Nikon point and shoot cameras are nice, but are basically standalone devices.
