Very impressive showing for the new Radeon cards. Especially if those power numbers turn out to be true.

Very impressive showing for the new Radeon cards. Especially if those power numbers turn out to be true.

They put the HD6870 even with the GTX460 (therefore 140w) or 55w less than the HD5850 (therefore 65w), or 20w more than the GTS450 (therefore 104w) or 60w less than the 5870 (so 110w), or 40w more than the 5770 (115w).

So it could be anything between 65w and 140w power, with the most likely range being 105~115w.

I don't overclock, so I don't really care.
look at a card like the gtx460 and why on earth would would moving a slider and picking up an additional 20-25% with no voltage change present a challenge? the 6870 only being able to oc by 6% is a freaking joke for enthusiasts. I can just save 60-70 bucks and get a 6850 or gtx460, oc them and get basically the same performance.

Looks like they went right at Crossfire scaling, those numbers look to good to be true.

It's not that overclocking is too hard. I have gotten so many duds over the years that overclocking potential doesn't factor in for me when I buy a graphics card.

well if it cant oc but 6% it certainly wont be a factor. lol. I look at personal and tech site reviews and if every reviewer can get 20-25% or more out of a card and it scales well then that most certainly adds value in my mind. same goes for cpus too.

lol, well I'll have to see how it overclocks when more people get their hands on it.

We don't know the actual limits. The chinese website got 985 I think and was limited by catalyst, so with voltage change and afterburner, we can see the true limits. Right now is a little early for jumping to conclusions.

I think the 6850 is definitely the one to look after, I want to see some OC numbers though because if I can get similar performance from an OCed GTX 460 than I am not going to bother buying the 6850/70.

So, will Amazon and Newegg start selling these things tomorrow? I have $175 in Amazon rewards that are begging me to use them....

Wow, these cards look too good to be true given their pricing. Both cards looked very impressive from the Guru3D review.

AMD nailed it with the 6870. Looks to be a better midrange part than the already incredible GTX460. Priced higher, but offers substantially higher performance in most of the games Guru tested. Different league performance.

They used to be ewiz,i usually buy from them or newegg.never had a problem with them
Question is. Do I buy now/tomorrow. Or are superclocked versions going to be coming out shortly.

Also, what are the ATI brands. Normally I only buy eVGA, but obviously I can't. Is Sapphire still the best?
