This is my first post, I have learned alot just from reading but I decided to post cuz I haven't seen this question. What is the actual difference between these two cards, assuming they are both OEM(except for dual display, tv out). I understand Hyper Z can be hacked in the LE can it be done in the VE as well? Also at neweggs description the charisma engine is lacking from the VE

The Le is the crippled Radeon, which can be fixed, while the VE is the crippled dual head (dual monitor) Radeon that cannot be fixed. The LE is virtually the same as a Retail Radeon DDR, except that it has Hyper-Z in Direct3d disabled. However, this is fixed very easily with a quick registry hack. The VE, howver, is the dual head card, which has half the memory bandwidth, and half the pipelines (64bit and 1 respectively). DO NOT GET the Radeon VE unless you really need the dual monitor/tv out, because the LE will trash the VE fairly well.
