When you have a bad idea make sure the buck lands like a ton of bricks on someone else.

Another President doesn't get that he can't wave a flag and have ME problems go away. Instead of quietly acting when opportunity arises he creates another Saddam and of course America is committed to making the world a safer place. Now that the patriot acting has worn thin reality hits and Hagel gets the axe for being stuck with his bosses foolishness. Sadly the next one selected by the Big Two parties will almost be like him and his predecessor. We don't learn.

Bombing ISIS was a good idea though?

It's time to give full backing to Assad, the place was quite a bit more peaceful with much less beheadings when he had control of Syria.

Doubt he will ever be able to control the Sunni areas ever again so we might want to aim for an Alawitian state while the Sunni territories possibly form their own state or join with the Sunni areas of Iraq.

Yeah, this hope of democratic peaceful opposition emerging is nothing but a pipe dream. In that neck of the woods, you are either a thug, or you are dead.

Pretty much all of our leaders. I would love to see if we can get some leadership that doesn't prioritize war and military spending over everything else.

It will be interesting to see if Joe McCarthy, whoops Ted Cruz, sticks by his threat to block all future confirmations for Hagel's replacement at Defense.

Iran gives isis the bomb.

Keep dreaming.

The most Shiite country on Earth trading a nuclear bomb to one of the most fundamentalist Sunni organizations (maybe country now) on Earth on not think no understand that it will not maybe but will most for sure be used back against them?

Good point.

How about isis invades iran and takes what they want?

Thanks to obama trade sanctions against iran have been reduced. Which puts nuclear power within an arms reach a well organized and well funded terrorist organization.

Just done here.

The ISIS is not even able to take Baghdad right now much less overrun Iran.

Such sort term thinking is sad. Can't you think about next week, maybe next year?

The seed for bringing the arab states together has been planted. It might be tomorrow, next week, next year, next decade, or even this generation.

Somewhere down the line a child will remember his grandfather talking about reuniting the arab states.
