You know what's going to end up happening? People who don't "need" this (like 100% of ATOT) are going to buy it. This will either put a strain on supply that would otherwise go to those who are in need, or push prices above the pricepoint at which those in need could afford it. You can't fvck with economics.

They're making them so that it'll actually cost them $100, right? So sell them to us for $150/$200, and you pretty much pay for some kid in Africa to have one for free.

I think I read somewhere that initially it would cost them more than 100, but as productivity increases, they will be able to bring it down to ~100

yeah, but the nigerian spammers are going to offer them on ebay for sure. my contact, mumbuntu, said that i could have 50 laptops for $10,000; western union transfer of course. let me know if you guys want one!

Did they really need to make it that damn ugly? Looks like a cross between a Nerf boomerang and a Snork.

Also, for the same price, you can get a used laptop that destroys this cheap new laptop.
