What will Gamestop try to kill tomorrow?

"Gamestop releases balloons in San Francisco that go over like a lead zeppelin"

"Gamestop, the largest video-game retailer in the United States, wanted to stir up some attention Wednesday in downtown San Francisco during this year's Game Developers Conference. In an odd echoing of an '80s song by German singer Nena, the company decided to release red balloons all around the Moscone Center where the huge conference has been taking place since Monday.

Apparently the retailer is partnering with video game company THQ to hype a presale promotion for the upcoming game Homefront.

Judging from the tweets of the socially concious Bay Area residents, Gamestop made a huge mistake, San Franscisco resident Matt Van Horn told Chatter. Balloon fail, to say the least as many balloons are being seen as polluting the city and its waters."

People complaining in San Francisco............................nooooooooo how can this be.

They should not buy games from gamestop, so then the people who never bought any games will now not buy even more games. That will show them.

I usually do not like gamestop. But for some reason I am liking them now.

"We understand the concerns consumers have regarding the impact balloons can have on the environment. However, the balloon drop stunt in San Francisco was created by THQ, the publisher of Homefront, and GameStop had no prior knowledge of it. THQ has since informed us that they released soy-based, biodegradable balloons. Comments and queries should be directed to THQ media relations."
