hey i stumbled upon what claims to be the first official review of the retail x800. the results seem to be pretty much in line with what was seen in the "beta" cards but it is worth a read. they do some benchmarking overclocked. they are comparing it to the 9800XT and the 5900/5950 Ultra. Nothing ground breaking but like I said, it is a good read, and got my mouth watering and my tongue wagging.

plenty of nifty pictures. it's the powercolor version and has some neat packaging with it. bundled with hitman. they call it the assassin version.

It's odd, but your first link goes to Microsoft.com (which has one of the lleast cool sites ever, especially for the great and all powerful Microsoft.) When I first clicked it I thought you were a troll (but he's not!) Thanks for the link.

From the looks of it, it might be a good idea to load up on a system with a fast CPU first..

Yep. That's why I'm getting an AMD64 3400+ (to be o/c'd) along with my x800XT. Can't wait for my pre-order to come in. The performance jump with the x800 series over existing video cards is absolutely incredible. Just as impressive as the 9700Pro was over the competition when it first came out.

If you're getting an X800Pro over an X800XT, you probably don't have a super fast CPU, because they cost $$$, so you'll go for the better cost/perf option.
A 3200+ is pretty much that option.

Plus, if you want super fast CPU graphs, look at all the other reviews.

I'm pretty sure Tomshardware has an X800 pro review.

Anyway, don't relaly care. No chance in hell (lol) i'm getting a 12 pipe card for 400 bucks. Maybe if its price plummets heh.

i think the hwhell is the first review of a "production from the store" card and not a reviewer sample directly from ATI (prerelease cards) at any rate its the first Powercolor review i've seen.

I'd like to know too. Cause if it is I'd switch to Intel, since I use XP.
