First new machine I built. How do I get Win98SE to detect my TNT card?

I just built my first pc using old "new" parts:

PIII 650
Asus P3V4X mobo
Diamond Viper 550 vid card
Mushkin 256 PC-100 RAM
Win98SE
IBM hdd

My problem, right now, is that I cant get Win98SE to detect my vid card once at desktop. It says Diamond Viper 550 at bootup but at desktop I only get 16 colors and display says Proview 770 on standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA). I have some new drivers waiting for it but it wont detect. Also, since these drivers are pretty new ....should i use them on this TNT 1 card? Or should i go with some old ones?

I had to install the drivers for TNT to show up.

I could use some info on the Via 4-in-1's now. I think I installed them properly but not sure......is there any place I can look to see if they did?
