first meal at chipotles...

Hmm... I wondered about this place. They're going to open one in my area soon (for Portland folks, it's in Beaverton on Cedar Hills Blvd. across from the Cedar Crossings Mall).

Oddly enough, they're building it next door to a Taco Bell 😛

Good though, eh?

chicken burrito with pinto beans and hot chipotle sauce > all

that is seriously one of my favorite meals, you mentioning it has me drooling 🙂

Lol bout time! where you been? that place is great! The only rant I have about their buritos is that they don't mix the food ... like i will have one big bite of rice, then one big bite of beans, etc ... but even with that, they still are awesome!!!

just make sure the bathroom is clear when you are done ... 😉

its owned by mcdonalds you know

I eat there every chance i get.

Make sure you make them put everything on there, the only extra that costs is guac

starting to get hungry

the first thing i did was look at everyone's profile who said they liked chipotle to see where they were from. illinois, maryland... ok, you're allowed to consider this to be good mexican food 😉

Is this fast food or sit down? There's one in Cupertino but it looked like a fancy overpriced sit down place, so I never want to go there for lunch.

No one said it was good Mexican food.
It just tastes good slopped together 🙂

My vote goes for burrito bowl with the spicy shredded beef and everything thrown on plus the mildly spicy sauce(I think it's red chili?)
I think someone else up top said one bad aspect is that they dont mix for you and I echo that.
I couldnt believe they sold beer there!

Hmm... hadn't considered that 😛

Still, I know what good Mexican food tastes like, and I also know that the good stuff doesn't come with a 32 oz soda for $5 for less. Just looking for a cheap lunch that's better than Taco Bell (blech) or Baja Fresh.

it's ok but i think it's overrated compared to some of the smaller mexican restaurants (gordito's for example, if you're in the seattle area). chipotle's isn't bad, but it's not that great.

Doh! For authentic mexican food, you should stop by Taqueria which are in trailers or trucks by road side, these women cook good food.

are you kidding? the best mexican food is often the cheapest. the best tacos i've ever had were $0.93 a piece, burritos a couple bucks more. however, i see your point, and i'd take chipotle over baja fresh any day, and sooner starve to death than eat taco bell.

McDucks didnt start them. They bought chipotle from Steve Ells The founder of Chipotle because McDucks wanted to diverersify the type of restarurants they have. Ells if i remember the story, just graduated college and his dad gave him a couple hundred grand and told him thats all you get, you either sink or swim and if you sink dont come back asking for any money.

he swam...

Untrue. Taco trucks get you food MUCH cheaper than that in some cases and will blow away any restaurant fare you could put in front of me.

IIRC, there's already one open near Lloyd Center if you ever want to check it out.
