I have been asked to start learning ios programming at work, to start porting some of the legacy WM applications we have built over the years. So I went ahead and ordered a mid 2010 macbook pro 15" model. The seller has upgraded the ram to 8GB, HD to 128GB SSD, and OS to Lion. I paid 1100 for it. Is that a decent price.

The price sounds good. Those upgrades are worth about $150ish, mainly in the SSD that should help a lot. If you need more disk space, you can even install a mechanical hard drive in place of the optical drive.

I just got it yesterday by fedex. I think the seller made a mistake while specing out the macbook. It has an i7 2.66 processor instead of the i5 like he had mentioned in his ad.

The macbook you got it still a very good machine and the upgrades make it even better. You should not have any problems runnin any programms on that. The price sounds decent as well.
