The most upsetting thing in all this is the way some copy-protection schemes go against the interests of the companie that back them up... don't various departments of one company know what each other is doing? How is it possible for Sony, for instance, to support copy-protection, if that is going to seriously hamper its MiniDisc (and what a fight it was for Sony to make the MD take off in the States and Europe... it took several years and two official launches!)
How is it possible to aim for perfect purity in sound, make exquisite equipment, like Arcam Alpha, or Sony (ES class), and so on, then introduce errorrs in the music, which will definitely be ruining the quality?
Truly, greed has no limits. And neither does stupidity. Nietzsche was right!
