First laptop need opinions please

I am looking for a decent notebook for school (use for light graphics, word processing, programming, ect). I am undecided between Dell 4100, Fujitsu 6631, Compaq 1720, and Toshiba 3005-s304. Can anyone give me opinions on these or maybe another one I might be missing. I have to stay under 1500 (after rebates).

I personally like the Toshiba's but I also like the super thin VAIO notebooks
from Sony. Size and weight should be another consideration since you'll probably
be lugging the thing around with you a lot. Too bad those Toshiba Portege's are
so expensive!

There has been SO much posted on this lately.

I really hate to repeat myself over and over again. I am really happy with my Dell 4100.

If you want detailed info on most of your notebook choices, do a "search" on General Hardware (and Hot Deals too) for the last 10-25 days using keywords "laptop" or "notebook". You will find so much that way.
