First Job - Good Offer?

I just had a meeting with my boss today to discuss a full time offer. I've been interning at this place in Cleveland, OH that does IT Consulting since May '06. I'll be graduating in May '07 with a BS in Computer Science. Just wondering how this package looks to you all:

Base Salary - $52,500/year
Health, Vision, Dental Insurance and Short and Long Term Disability coverage
3 weeks paid vacation
Annual Performance Reviews where I can get a raise - was made known that they were 6-10% on average, and it was made clear that if you aren't performing well enough to get a raise you shouldn't be working there period
Bonuses - up to 10% again based on performance
401k plan
Eligable for profit sharing after a year of employment

My intial thought was that it looked pretty damned good, they're giving me this Thanksgiving break to think it through.

Any thoughts/comments? Thanks.

Pretty good offer from Cleveland..

If it was in Chicago, New York, or West Coast.. then it would be low. I would think..

3 weeks paid vacation, as in 15 working days?

I get 25 days paid holiday.

EDIT: Ohh and congrats, it seems excellent for a first job

Bah....I'm in the US and I get 2 vacation days a month and over 2 weeks of holiday pay.

My annual leave accumulates faster than I can use it most of the time.

Yeah I was keeping in mind the fact that it's Cleveland, cost of living is quite low.

As for the figure on a national scale, I learned from my career center that the national average for BS Computer Science students was about 50k last year.

That's not a bad deal you got there. I wasn't boasting by the way, i was just questioning it. I thought he would have atleast been offered more holiday. More in the region of 4 weeks possibly.

Well, I would say its pretty decent...

Not that im bitter or anything, but i've been in lvl 2 IT support for almost 5 years, have the UK equivalent to an associates degree, am MCP and MCDST cerfified and generally the only work available to me in this area is contract work, with no benefits and a 1-2 year term making 40k ish before taxes. Oh, that and when you contract, your employers treat you like blacks were treated in the early 1900s.

Oh, by the way actually i am bitter. I hate you. 😛

Yes. True.

Some companies offer a different badge colour for contractors than the employees get. When employee clients see the contractor badge, its like you have leprosy. Some refuse to have you work on their machines...

The U.S. employer usually gives much less vacation time than European employers.

Damn thats a nice job. Mine is similar but I make about 57k a year but i only get 10 days of vacation starting out. This is near Richmond, Va.

Ahh, i see. I wasn't aware of that 🙂

Seems like a harsh deal for you guys.

Currently in Lakewood, slated to move to new building in Midtown on Euclid since Cleveland is trying to turn that area around.

I totally agree.

I am a short-term consultant for the World Bank group (1 year) and fvck it, if they don't offer me a staff position in June, I am gone for good. Turned down Accenture, Bearing Point and Ingersoll-Rand for this  Only for the name... only for the name...

I do the same thing.

Everything is the same, but I've been at it for 4 years so my salary is a little more up. IT Consulting is the way to go for money and experience.
