First HDTV purchase, new to researching this

Hey all, I'm sure you get a ton of these new users asking for tips and want you to do all the work for them, but I've had my time put in over the years on various forums and and will see if there are any other areas in the forums I can lend my knowledge to.

First off, I am new at researching specs on TVs, especially with all the new technology that is being released last and this year. Dynamic/static contrast ratio, response time and input lag (very important to me), and the boards that they use in the guts of the TV.

I'm looking for about 42"-50" depending on the price. Looking to spend (preferably) 600-700, closer to the low end if possible but wiggle room is all dependent on how much I'm getting for the money.

I do need to be able to play Xbox 360 thru component cables as I have the arcade version, and I have a sound system capable of Digital/optical input. This is where the input lag comes into play. I recently tested Black Ops on a 42" Vizio and it was horribly unplayable with the input lag and response time. That isn't acceptable, and really shouldn't be an issue with the technology that is available.

Other than that, I just need a TV that will be going in a living room of an apartment, probably viewed from 5-7 feet away. Plenty of HDMI for expansion, component and composite a definite plus, and PC A/V (DSUB and audio) would be great as well.

I've been looking around wal-mart and amazon.com (not necessarily to buy from them, just seeing what is available and what price range.) I live in AZ so Fry's Electronics, best buy, etc are all options.

Here are 3 models I've looked up so far:
Vizio 42" razor LED 120Hz
Vizio 47" 120Hz
LD LD450 42" 60Hz

I appreciate any and all help with this. Ask me questions, and I'll do my best to answer them so I can narrow down a possible purchase. Cheers.

That Vizio is a good price for a 47". Trust me in saying you'll want to go as big as you can afford. Usually TV's will have a game mode or something to turn off the extra processing to improve the lag times.
