First-grader suspended for sex harassment

When I was in first grade there was girl who was all over me I did not invite it. Every time I turned around the same girl would be giving me hung and trying to sneak in kiss ect. Teachers back then just would tell them "Hands Off" and that would be all that would be done. If I ever go back in time I would tell my little self girls are not icky and that you have three in that class that are going after you and you?re doing nothing try to enjoy it. After that year girls left me alone until the sixth grade or so.

I can imagine what happened:
The kids were playing together in a group (like kids do), the girl and boy started pushing each other ('You're IT' or something), he went in for a wedgie, and got caught. I'm gonna asssume female teacher sees this and flips out that it's sexual harrassment.

I'd like to know who the complainant was.

The girl's teacher claims the girl approached her after it happened. I doubt the 6-yo said she was sexually harassed. Typical little girl, starts a fight with the boys then cries to teacher or Mommy when she takes a hit. Happened every day when I was in school.

I found this story interesting (from local news station):
Experts say sexual harassment not possible for most 6-year-olds

The Brockton School Committee defines sexual harassment among students, in part, as "uninvited physical contact such as touching, hugging, patting or pinching."

Yeah......we wouldn't want to teach kids that it's okay to love one another, or show affection, would we? Then they might actually turn out not to be the little politically correct drones that the educators want them to be!!

sometimes I truly believe educators are the stupidest people on the planet.

I think so too. This kind of crap (among other things) will be the downfall of our country.

There is only one correct response to this situation.

Immediate multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the school district, the teacher, and the superintendent. Being punished like this could emotionally damage the kid for life ? not to mention it?s just wrong.

A line should be drawn: act like a moron, get sued like a moron. They probably suspended the kid because they were afraid the girl?s parents would sue. They need to be taught that stupidity is a double edged sword.

Do you think a six year old should be suspended for hitting, spitting, or throwing rocks?

Yes, children know that hitting, spitting and throwing rocks are bad things. That's why they do them.

Children (at that age) do not know what sex is. They are not doing things because of sexual gratification.

Absolutely ridiculous. A 6-year-old child doesn't even know what ssexual harassment, let alone sex, is. These kids were obviously just being kids and playing together. I think all of us did this kind of stuff when we were that young, so what's the big deal?

Especially not Brockton, MA. After Dorchester and Roxbury, I think they they have the highest murder/violent crime rate in the state.
